One report to detect them all, or one easy way to track cloud vulnerabilities

Image
Security is one of the biggest concerns of all information and data owners. People who choose to store their data in cloud want to be sure that these data are safe and well-protected against any intrusion. Cloud providers and infrastructure management platforms supply different security mechanisms and provide scanning tools and facilities aiming at the highest security level. These tools usually produce a number of different security reports that - though giving an invaluable information - can become misleading or be simply lost among other reports and letters. Maestro v.3.33 focuses on developing and providing its users an aggregated report that will present the results from these scanning tools in a simple and clear way that will be draw the immediate attention to any existing or possible security issues. Updated Vulnerabilities report Maestro v.3.33 introduces the updated Vulnerabilities report that overcomes the drawbacks of the previous versions. The updated ...

Size-based approach to cloud infrastructure analytics

Image
Effective management of cloud resources should accomodate different factors. One of these factors is the size of the infrastructure. If the tenant manager has no tools or doesn't recognize the specifics of the tenant resources, it makes their management time-consuming and might cause considerable money losses. One of the focuses of Maestro v.3.33 is to provide a tenant manager responsible for costs and billing with the analytics of such level, scope, and elaboration that is optimal for the size and complexity of the managed cloud infrastructure. By their size, cloud infrastructures can be roughly divided 4 groups: Small infrastructures consisting of several virtual instances usually require the analytics based on the exact instances – their creation, start and stop times, individual telemetry, etc. Medium infrastructures consisting of dozens of instances created manually usually require the analytics based the instances vulnerabilities, costs of the instances, their workload, e...

Maestro Reports for Cost Analytics and Optimization

Image
Billing and costs are one of the primary concerns for any business owner. Thus, Maestro sees great importance in providing its users effective cost optimization tools. We provide a multi-level analytic mechanism that allows tenant management monitoring the process of cost optimization in an effective manner. Maestro focuses on improving this multi-level analytic mechanism in order to make it optimal in usage. Multi-level Analytic Mechanism for Cost Optimization The first level of this mechanism is related to using budgets . Managers of tenant set quotas for their tenants and are informed about their depletion. Besides, Maestro allows setting additional actions for the new infrastructures intended for cost optimization: automatically stop all instances when the quota is depleted, requesting approval for the new instances, deny running new instance after the quota is depleted. More details about this mechanism are here . The second level is presented with the Forecast report . This...

Maestro team wants to thank you for being with us in our common strive to success.

Unified approach to budgets APIs

Regardless of which cloud provider you choose and what your development and production processes are, it is crucial to have an understandable and manageable tool to control the costs of your cloud infrastructure. This is especially true if you have resources in different cloud providers and run between the tasks to get the optimal system and to keep your chargeback as low as possible. Native Cloud Budget APIs All public cloud providers have their own budgeting solutions that allow keeping records and maintaining costs of your resources located on their servers. However, all of these solutions are cloud-dependent and even though they are optimized for the definite provider, they usually differ in terms of logics, behavior, and UI representation: AWS Budgets allow setting custom budgets and track costs and usage in many use cases – from the simplest and most ordinary to the most complex and challenging ones. AWS Budgets functionality supports different types of alerts and notifi...

Flexible notification policy in Maestro

Image
Maestro users enjoy the profound system of more than 60 reports and notifications which give them the detailed and extensive information about their infrastructure lifecycle, access rights and configuration changes, costs and billing, security, etc. The reports and notifications are sent to the cloud users based on their tenant roles and according to the default subscription settings. However, this number can be excessive for your current tasks or your current workload or inconvenient for the device you have at hand. To make your experience with Maestro reports and notifications more effective, this release introduces the enhanced and upgraded version of the  Subscriptions  wizard – the  Notification policy  wizard. Notification policy  wizard is available for tenant members with different roles and allows configuring default settings for personal (all tenant members) and tenant (managers only) subscriptions. Within the wizard, all reports and notifications are...
