2025 is coming: From Dragon Tales to Snake Wisdom
The Year 2024 is coming to an end, and it's high time to sum up our achievements and future plan in the traditional summary and resolution post.
While the Green Dragon is still here, we would like to start with summing up the past 52 weeks, taking the recap of the updates, news, and success cases we had - all that becomes a solid ground for our further movement.
2024: Main Steps and Updates
Traditionally, Maestro development was focused on several main directions, as well as included a set of general updates and stabilization changes.
General updates and stabilization
The updates covering general Maestro performance and core functionality has been taking place throughout the year, with the massive stabilization closer to the end of the year.
These included not only performance improvements and bug fixing, but also important new features, such as the possibility to have the ReadOnly access to Maestro, a huge update to C-level, tenant-level, and resource-level reports, and decomposition and publishing CLI, SDK, Private Agent and Maestro catalog to opensource
Cloud Resource Management
Cloud resource management updates were to a large extent focused on supporting new functionality for resource types atop virtual instances and storages.
This included the new possibilities to manage autoscaling groups via Maestro UI, the “Resize” functionality for VMs in AWS, Azure and GCP, separate views for Storage, SSH keys, and Kubernetes clusters on UI, as well as S3 buckets inventory (list and review)
Analytics
The Maestro Analytics direction has been significantly improved by the new widgets and complete review of look and feel of all the reports we have, and the redesign of Analytics Dashboard.
We also introduced the new “Cloud Radar” widget that provides a convenient strategic view of the infrastructure within your enterprise, the “Alarm” functionality for VMs metrics in AWS, Azure and GCP,
FinOps
FinOps was one of the main directions for Maestro development in 2024, and it included a wide set of new features and important updates.
For public clouds, we integrated AWS CUR 2.0 to collect billing data, improved billing calculation for GCP, AWS, and Azure.
On the Dashboard, Maestro got FinOps widgets based on CUR2.0 data, C-level dashboards, and a separate view for FinOps widgets.
For reporting, the Pivot tables with extended data in reports are now available, as well as Active filters to simplify working with the Reports page.
Security
This year, Maestro also got a separate view for the Security widgets on the Dashboard, the ability to work behind a proxy-server in closed perimeters, and the integration with Syndicate Rule Engine to collect recommendations and insights for VMs

Resolution time
Thus, the past year was really productive in the strategic directions we declared previously, and let us now see, what is waiting for us in the future. Well, we're not going to read the coffee grounds or consult the magic ball to predict.
Instead, in our planning, we rely on the technological trends, customers needs, and the strategic vision of Maestro as a product evolution.
- For Analytics and Reporting, we plan to implement an extended wizard on reports setup and customization.
- We plan to enable infrastructure management not only via resources, but also via application components,
- Integration with Kubernetes will be improved by integration with the rule engine, enhance analytics and reporting
- To make Maestro integrability better, we will simplify EPAM Syndicate tools installation from AWS Marketplace
The year of 2025 is going to be fruitful, full of events and new updates. Cloud technologies are developing very quickly, and they quickly absorb new tools, findings and approaches from other technological areas, like AI.
Although we have the roadmap and highlighted future plans, Maestro remains flexible and attentive to the new ideas, requests, and challenges.
May the 2025 be happy for you all! And keep track of the updates.
Sincerely yours,
Maestro Team
